The Astronomy Centre is high up on the moors of the Southern Pennines, near the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire, the centre also has a camera obscura.
Join their friendly team of astronomers for a tour of the facility and explore the skies with various telescopes, including a huge 30" aperture Dobsonian telescope and 8" refractor. Observing using telescopes is weather permitting, with talks and presentations taking place if the weather is cloudy or the skies are light.
Visits can be made to the camera obscura on Wednesdays and Saturdays by arrangement.

The camera obscura was built by camera obscura maker Peter Drew.
Peter built at least 21 camera obscuras including those at The Moat and Camera Obscura, Donaghadee and The Royal Observatory Greenwich Camera Obscura.
