Obscura Legacies has visited the Clifton Observatory many times over the years. The views on a bright sunny day are so clear and amaze me every time I visit. The images below were taken on a sunny September day.
Clifton Observatory, Bristol
Clifton Observatory is a fomer mill, damaged by fire, purchased by William West in 1828. He then installed telescopes and a camera obscura which he opened the public in 1842. Fantastic views of the gorge and the surrounding area can be seen.
