Kirriemuir Camera Obscura

Kirriemuir Camera Obscura is housed in a purpose-designed turret room in the Barrie Pavilion on Kirrie Hill. It was gifted to the town by Sir J M Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, along with the cricket pavilion in which it is situated and was opened by the author on 7th June 1930.

NOTE: 29 June 2026 - Due to the ongoing technical issue with Camera Obscura - sadly the Camera remains closed, they hope to get it fixed and open again ASAP. NORMAL OPENING IS 2026: 28 March to mid-October Saturday, Sunday & Monday – 11am to 4pm (last camera viewing at 3.45pm)
