In 1860, Lot Williams, one of Llandudno's first postmen (1841-1919), erected a periscope device on a hill above the Happy Valley. He entertained paying entrants to his 'magic' shed with living panoramas of the town and the bay below. A moving image of Llandudno life and courting couples was cast onto a white circular table in the building by a lens and mirror system mounted on the roof. https://www.peoplescollection.wales/items/33256
Llandudno Camera Obscura
The Llandudno camera obscura is the second replica of the original camera obscura dated 1860. It is housed in an octagonal building on the Great Orme. I visited the camera obscura in 2013, however it seems to have been closed in recent years.
