Camera Obscura Open Days and Events September 2026
September is the month when Heritage Open Days and Doors Open Days take place. 2026 sees three camera obscuras and one giant pinhole camera opening as part of these schemes. In particular the Open Days provide visitors with the opportunity to see Chester Camera Obscura and FriarWood Valley Pinhole Camera which are not regularly open to the public
Additionally during September, there is a networking and information event at Kirriemuir Camera Obscura, the Gainsborough House Collective is hosting an event and Pinhole London is running a workshop.

12 September - Heritage Open Day event at Chester Camera Obscura
12/13 September - Doors Open Days - Kirriemuir Camera Obscura & Cafe Obscura
20 September - Heritage Open Day event - Friarwood Valley Gardens Pinhole Camera
26/27 September - Doors Open Days - Edinburgh Camera Obscura
27 September - Gainsborough House Collective: Camera Obscura & Family Drawing
Camera Obscuras to visit soon ... before they close for the winter 2026/27
A number of the camera obscuras in the British Isles open seasonally; closing in September or October until the following Spring/Summer.
